Jessica Alba Has Come a Long Way

The world’s sexiest woman of 2007 started on the lowest rung of Hollywood before she achieved her current stardom today. Jessica Alba first appeared on two national TV ads (JC Penney and Nintendo), and then landed the role of Jessica in Nickelodeon’s The Secret World of Alex Mack in 1994. She was also cast as Maya in the first two seasons of Flipper which was shot in Australia. Jessica’s first film appearance was in Camp Nowhere, playing the role of Gail. She later joined in several independent films. She became widely familiar to the masses after playing a part of a snobby high school clique in Never Been Kissed (Drew Barrymore film) and as the female lead in Idle Hands (with Devon Sawa).

Her biggest break, however, was in the sci-fi series Dark Angel. Jessica Alba was personally chosen by the show’s writer/director James Cameron for the role of the genetically-engineered super-soldier Max Guevara, the show’s main character. Her show ran for two seasons then it was cancelled. The good thing was that Jessica received several awards for her turn as Max including Choice Actress in the Teen Choice Awards 2001. After Dark Angel, Jessica starred in varied movie roles: she played Nancy Callahan, an exotic dancer in the cult movie Sin City; she was a dancer-choreographer in the funky dance movie Honey; and as Sue Storm (her most popular role to date) in the hugely successful Fantastic Four and its sequel. Jessica was also seen in Into The Blue, The Ten and Good Luck, Chuck. Her upcoming movies include The Eye (remake of a spectacular Asian horror movie), Awake, Bill, and Sin City 2.

Aside from movies, Jessica Alba is a favorite cover for numerous magazines. Playboy even used her sexy Into The Blue promotional photos in one of their covers! Jessica objected to it, and Hugh Hefner himself apologized to the sexy actress and donated money to her favorite charities. Jessica has graced the March 2006 issue of Playboy and was named as Sex Star of the Year for 2006. She was also among its 25 Sexiest Celebrities. Despite posing for the men’s risqué magazine, Jessica has never done any nude photos (or had a nude movie scene) coz she has a no-nudity clause in her contract.

Anyway, in the website Askmen.com, readers voted Jessica number 1 on the 99 Most Desirable Women list. She is number 2 in Maxim and is FHM’s Sexiest Woman of the World for 2007. She also graced the covers of InStyle and GQ magazines last June 2007. Jessica was chosen as one of People Magazine's annual 100 Most Beautiful People in May 2007. She has also appeared in magazine ads for L'Oreal Studio Line FX Melting Gel and L'Oreal Feria.
